Is Your Sense of Well Being Undermining Your Success?

Is Your Sense of Well-Being Undermining Your Success?

We are so busy every minute of the day. We get a lot of things done. Most of the time we get some much done we think we’re doing fine.

But in the silence of your mind do you ever have those moments when you feel like you’re losing it? Are you totally overwhelmed, or feeling like everyone’s getting on your LAST RAW NERVE?
When you look back over the last month do you ever wonder how did I get it all done? Often times we simply just get it done and what doesn’t get done just wasn’t important right!?!

But what if the fact that you do get it all done is really undermining your success?

Medical costs for women are 68% higher than for a man. Those higher costs are due in part to the fact that we bear children. But the majority of the costs are associated with our stressful lives and the fact that we have taken on more that we should.

Ready to change… here are 5 tips to help you.

1.    Stop trying to be perfect. Life isn’t about being perfect, which is unattainable, but being excellent every day. Happiness is not a destination but a journey. Along the way you have to let go of the things that just don’t matter.
2.    Take a 15 minute dose of silence. Find a quiet place (even if it’s the car) and sit for 15 minutes. Don’t think about anything just be. Think it’s simple – try it.
3.    Laugh, find the feeling of happiness. We often do so much that we forget to enjoy a good laugh. Many studies have proven the value of a good laugh which will improve your ability to cope and ward off illness caused by stress.
4.    Stop trying to make everyone happy. In trying to make everyone happy you begin to assume responsibility for their happiness. Just like you can’t motivate other (we can inspire but never motivate) you can’t make them happy. And if you try, you will not be happy.
5.    Make a new friend. Review your network of friends and pick someone to get to know better. Do something for someone that will open up your world to a different perspective.

Think you can’t make the changes. Yes you can! But it does take courage, conviction, planning and patience.   Be gentle with yourself. Success is all in your attitude. Everyday get up and be your best. Don’t judge your progress. Just keep going.
